Summertime means it’s high school commitment season for college football programs. Eastern Michigan, which already got its quarterback for the eventual signing class of 2027, added two more prep pledges from offensive players this weekend.
One joins as an offensive lineman from Florida. The other is a wideout from the Gateway City.
The lineman, Nowlin Lawson (listed: 6’5, 285 lbs.) comes from Manatee HS in Bradenton, Fla, and picked EMU over Bowling Green, Liberty, Kent State, Middle Tennessee, East Carolina, Alabama State, and UNC-Pembroke.

Ekelian Henderson is a 6-foot receiver from St. Louis, Mo. (Lift for Life Academy) who chose EMU over Miami OH, Northern Illinois, Arkansas State, and a handful of others at the FCS and Division II levels.

Lawson and Henderson become the fourth and fifth high school players to commit to EMU for the current recruiting cycle. All five commitments have come from five different states outside of Michigan.
