EMU Football Recruiting Update: Pair of O-Linemen commit

National signing day is just two weeks away, and Eastern Michigan is filling out its high school class with its 13th and 14th commitments out of the high school ranks this week.

On Tuesday, Kansas-native Terrance Saunders II made his commitment to the team, and Kellen McDonough from the Pittsburgh area followed up with his commitment Wednesday.

Saunders, from Stilwell, Kansas, played left tackle for his Blue Valley West HS who picked EMU over New Mexico State and Missouri Western. McDonough, also a left tackle for his high school of Woodland Hills (Pittsburgh, Pa.), held an additional offer from Delaware State.

With Trenton VanBoening, EMU is set to sign three high school offensive linemen on Dec. 21.

A name that’s been committed to this roster since late October but not written about on this site until now: Kevion Wellington. Wellington is a defensive lineman from Indianapolis, Ind. and played at North Central HS. Wellington, the #37 recruit from Indiana, picked EMU over Army, Ball State, Bowling Green, Eastern Illinois, Grand Valley, Kent State, Navy and WMU.

Wellington was originally a WMU commit back in May, but recommitted from he program just two months later. On October 23, the D-lineman made up final decision known that he’d be going to EMU.

By 247sports composite, EMU has the MAC’s fifth-ranked class behind Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Miami and Toledo. Of the 14 current commits, 10 hold 3-star ratings.

Nationally, EMU has the #89 rated incoming class.
