The first turnaround week of the season is here. After months and months and months of waiting for the first football game of the year to be played, it’s time to finally stop thinking about the first game of the season and look ahead to the next one.

That’s the beauty of Mondays this time of year.

San Jose State (0-1) becomes the second-ever California-based school to come to Rynearson Stadium, less than a week after it hosted its first-ever game with a squad from the Golden State.

SJSU also comes to Ypsilanti as the one team fans know for being on the losing end of some historically important games for Eastern Michigan (1-0). EMU beat SJSU in the only two games against one another, both in bowl games. The first came in 1987 when EMU still used Hurons as a mascot. The other time came four years ago, in 2022, in a long-awaited Potato Bowl victory.

EMU opened this week with an updated depth chart in its game notes packet ahead of the game scheduled for Friday night. Below are the updates
