Senior captain and receiver Nick Devereaux exited the Wisconsin game with an arm injury.
As reported by Peacock sideline reporter Lewis Johnson, as Wisconsin took a 10-point lead in the second quarter, Devereaux went in the injury tent and soon left for the locker room.
“He was in the tent for quite a few minutes, but then suddenly he emerged without shoulder pads, without his jersey, and in a sling — his right arm in a sling — and his face said he was in pain. And they escorted him to the locker room, so clearly Devereaux is done for the day.”
Devereaux caught three passes for 38 yards, including an 18-yard touchdown catch on the team’s opening possession to take a 7-0 lead in the first quarter.
EMU already came into the game without WR Harold Mack, who was the team’s leading receiver through three games (14 grabs, 135 yards, 1 TD). Mack was double-teamed by a pair of Michigan State tacklers last week, and was hit in the head on that play.
Devereaux caught 12 passes for 105 yards (1 TD) through EMU’s first three games, and was awarded the team’s #2 jersey at the start of the season.
EMU is also without lineman Cole Dellinger for a second-straight game, and linebacker Barry Manning has already been ruled out for the rest of the season.
