Senior linebacker Barry Manning is out for the year to injury, Eastern Michigan head coach Chris Creighton confirmed after Saturday's game at Michigan State.
When asked if there would be a timeline for the linebacker's return to the field, Chris Creighton said that there isn't one.
“We're not expecting him to be able to play this season,” Creighton said. “But he'll still be part of our system, I promise you that.”
Manning was wiped from the field last week after he got hurt on a special teams tackle he made.
Manning was the starting Mike linebacker this season and recorded 10 tackles in his two games played. He recorded 120 total tackles over his college playing career (8 for loss) including one interception, three forced fumbles, and six passes broken up. Last year, Manning was one of three players to finish the season with a team-high 5.5 TFL.
