On to the next B1G opponent.
After Eastern Michigan was ground down to a 35-7 loss at Michigan State, it’ll hit the road again to take on another opponent from the Big Ten, a familiar one at that.
EMU (1-2, 1-0 MAC) takes on Wisconsin (1-1) Saturday for a noon-thirty-er on Peacock. EMU's overall record fell to 1-2 after a win over Sacramento State and a loss to San José State.
EMU saw Wisconsin in 2021 and lost 34-7. The only touchdown scored by Eastern that evening was one of the longest in school history: a 98-yard pick-six by David Carter Jr.
Barry Manning’s season is over, which means. In the San José game, Manning exited after he made a tackle on a Spartan punt returner in the second quarter. Fourth-year linebacker Bryce Eliuk got his first start of the season on defense, and Quincy Byas replaced Manning on punt team.

O-LINE: With Cole Dellinger’s injury at right guard last week and a chosen new starter at right tackle, EMU had its first new starting O-line combination of the year and is the listed five again this week for Wisconsin.
WR INJURY: Harold Mack exited the Michigan State game after he was ganged up by a couple of defenders on a first-down gain in the third quarter.
Said Creighton, of Mack, during the week-opening press conference Monday: “He was in the injury tent for a reason. So, he was knocked out of the game; he felt better yesterday… That’s going to be day-by-day.”
INJURY PT.2: WR Kozy Isaac, who had a touchdown grab against Sacramento State, was ruled out last week at MSU.

GAME 2 STARTER: EMU’s notes include Juan Salas as a starting defender vs. San José State, but not Manning. Manning actually started and played up to his injury.
